Indonesian Independence Day Nasi Goreng

Indonesian Independence Day Nasi Goreng

This week we're celebrating all things Indonesian, in honour of Indonesian Independence Day on August 17. Today, Hari Merdeka, or Independence Day is a day filled with festivities and celebrations. The festival begins with  the hoisting of the flag followed by  a street parade and fun-filled activities:  sack races, eating krupuk (an Indonesian cracker) or fruit hanging on a string and climbing a pinang tree to reach for a prize, to name a few.

Celebrate with us by trying our delicious Nasi Goreng recipe, Indonesia's national dish of fried rice tossed with prawns, egg and coriander. Our Nasi Goreng Spice Paste adds authentic flavour, so you can enjoy the tastes of Indonesia in your very own home.  Hari kemerdekaan bahagia to all, happy Independence Day!

Serves 4
